Great for picnics and bbqs for adults and children. Low water up to your knees on some areas of river/beach and deeper in other areas. The difference is always noticeable. Great parking lots. Dogs allowed.

I have to laugh at all the mosquito complaints. You are in nature.....you are in their home. It's next to a river.....of course you will have mosquitoes. If your not into getting bitten by mosquitoes.....go in late fall or early winter. A real Gen of the valley. Loved hiking there with our friends.

This place is sorrounded by trees. Most of the campsites are shaded. Can accommodate RVs. Restroom and showers are clean...bring quarters for your shower. We brought our small boat with motor and launched in the river with no problem. Beach area is really small and gets crowded and it's quite a walk from parking area. You can reserve but don't get an assigned spot till you get there so if you reserve more than 1 spot get there early so you can get your spots close together otherwise.

Overall a well maintained camping area. It might be a good idea to call and confirm your reservation prior to your arrival. When we visited, the online system wasn't fully working and the actual campsite was first come, first served.

Tons of Scenic trails and access to a beach at the river... great for summer time picnics or boating or floating down the river. Also really nice campgrounds with showers and electricity in the bathrooms.
